About egvpl's money smart meetup
Started in January 2015, Money Smart Meetup is a free, ongoing series of financial education programs, presented or hosted by Elk Grove Village Public Library. We follow the "meetup" style, an informal, discussion-style program...get a cup of coffee, listen to our presenter, ask questions, discuss with others.
This initiative was inspired by the American Library Association's Money Smart Week. Every April, libraries across the country provide financial literacy programming during Money Smart Week. We wanted to build on that idea by providing a meetup every month to help you keep on track with your financial goals.
Each month, we offer a chance to learn something new about money...ways to spend less, save more and make the most of your hard-earned money to help you achieve your financial goals. We strive to keep you informed about new books, databases, websites and other resources to help your learn more about money.
Throughout the year, we invite local experts to share information and ideas on all aspects of personal finance, from living on a budget to planning for retirement.
If you have questions about Money Smart Meetup, or want to suggest a specific topic to cover, please contact Nancy Broten-Munson at 847-725-2159.
